What Expenses Can You Claim?

One of the major benefits of using Foremans (UK) Ltd is the ability to claim expenses. Legitimate expenses reduce the amount of net income and therefore the amount of tax and National Insurance that has to be deducted.

What can I claim?

Most expenses that are incurred “wholly, exclusively and necessarily” as a result of your employment through Foremans (UK) Ltd can be claimed.

Expenses can be paid from Foremans (UK) Ltd if the site at which you work at is considered to be a temporary workplace, i.e. you are expecting to work there for less than two years. This can include:

  • Travel – mileage and expenses incurred for business travel away from your main work-site during the working day
  • Personal Incidentals – incidentals when staying away from home
  • Accommodation – the cost of overnight accommodation for business.
  • Work Clothing – job specific work clothing
  • Professional Fees and Courses – necessary to complete your role in the workplace
  • Postage and Stationery – required to complete your role in the workplace
  • Telephone – business calls made on your landline or mobile phone

Making an Expenses Claim

To make any claim simply complete a Foremans (UK) Ltd expenses claim form and attach your original receipts where appropriate.

Employees can claim any expenses that fall within our policies and in line with HMRC guidelines on allowable expenses. It is important to remember that expenses should only be claimed where a cost has been incurred by you.
